J360 - Monday, October 11: Aulnat – Intersection D22/D46

75.77km  – 10H02’
Altitude : 419m
Finish October 17 at l’INSEP – Avenue de Tremblay, 75012 Paris
There will be no stage between cities
Serge will enter l’INSEP around 9:00 a.m. and will run on the track in the INSEP until 11:06 a.m.  He will be accompanied by everyone who wishes to run these last two hours of the Around the European Union Footrace, and celebrate the 365 days of the race. L’INSEP will wish to see an identity card for everyone who wishes to enter the site.

« This is our last Monday. » Those were Serge’s first words this morning.
We thought we would be alone in the world, on small sun-drenched roads, for this stage but it is not the case.  At km 14 there is a surprise waiting for us: Patrick and Fabienne arrived from Normandy, from Montivilliers to be precise, which they left during the night to join us for the day.  Patrick and Fabienne were on the road last year, between Le Havre and Istanbul.  To learn more:
Patrick and Serge chatter like two magpies, a rather unusual phenomenon for our runner, who has been rather silent these days.
Shortly before we reached Chantelle we have another visit, from Joëlle and Gilles.  We go back in time because Gilles ran last December 31st at Madrid with David, a French expat in the Spanish capital.  The trio had rain for the entire time it took to cross the city.  This is a fine meeting, with good memories.  Hi David.
We also had a visit from Noël, from Voissac, and from Chantelle, Jérome, with his family, who has been following the Around the European Union Footrace since August.  Warned of Serge’s arrival at Chantelle by the interview on France 3 Auvergne yesterday, they were at the rendezvous.
And lastly, Arlette and Alain, who are back from vacation, after stopping in Lyon last week, make a halt before returning to Normandy.
So we are quite a group for this improvised finish at the intersection of two roads.
Now we have to reach Saint-Amand Montrond, 80 km from here, because tomorrow will be a long and very animated day.  It’s a hop that takes time and now it is bedtime.
